wxWindows changes its name

Following a lengthy and sometimes intense debate in the wxWindows community, the open source, cross platform GUI library wxWindows will change its name to wxWidgets after Microsoft last year approached founder and project leader Julian Smart and domain holder Robin Dunn asking them to change the name to avoid infringing on their Windows trademark. Microsoft has pledged some money in return, which will be used to fund further development of wxWidgets after all costs associated with the name change have been covered.

Read the official announcement...

Welcome to the Lit Window Productions News Feed.

This feed will list interesting tidbits around wxWindows and other programming and software engineering news as well as carry announcements from Lit Window Productions and other associated websites (such as Anthemion Software). The update frequency will probably be quite low, no more than one or two new articles a month, but that is what makes RSS such a good thing. You can keep up to date with whats happening without having to check the website or cluttering your inbox with numerous 'Newsletters'.

I wish you all a happy and successful 2004.

Best regards, Hajo Kirchhoff (Lit Window Productions)
